A list of places that provide sanctuary from the heat. When the temperature goes over 30 degrees you can find some where cool to sit at one of these places. Some have facilities like toilets, cafes and water – others are just a place to be.
We are currently working on bringing this list together – hopefully adding more spaces – watch this space.

St. James-the-Less, Stubbings
Pews seating in church, bottled water available, toilets are available between 9am and 12noon in the Soltau Centre (behind church). We have Wi-Fi in the church and the password is displayed on our noticeboard. Parking is available behind the church or in the layby.

St. Mary the Virgin, Hurley
Pews seating in church and some chairs. Wi-Fi available (password is displayed). No toilets available but nearby village shop offers refreshment, air-conditioning and seating. Parking is available in the nearby public car park for free.
Open 8am-6pm
St. John the Evangelist, Littlewick Green
Pews seating in church. No Wi-Fi. Bottled water available. No toilets. Parking is available next to the church.
Open 11am-4pm
St Edwards Church, Alma Road, Windsor
It is cool in the church with both pews and seats but no access to loos or anything else I am afraid.
Most days 9am-2pm
Holy Trinity Church, Cookham and
St John the Baptist Cookham Dean
Both are accessible.
Holy Trinity has seats and St John the Baptist has pews.
No toilet facilities are available.
Both Will be open 9-5 for people seeking respite. (Note Sunday Morning Service at Holy Trinity is at 10.00am and Evening Services are at 5.30pm)
